Lakme Fashion Week and the Saree!

Neeta Lulla and her Barbie along with Katrina Kaif created quite a sensation this year at the Lakme fashion week. Nah, we are not going to see or talk about that here. We love our eternal and ever-so-gracious sarees.Talking of gracious, Carol walked the ramp beautifully in this chic, blue number.

This orange one with a high collar blouse by Ayan looked pretty as well:

Vikram Phadnis dazzled up some pretty sarees as well:

The experimental Pria Kataria showcased her fabulous talent with this drape:

Naomi sizzles Lakme Fashion Week

Guess who walked the ramp at this years Lakme Fashion Week...it was none other than the glamorous Naomi Campbell. And to validate yet again the fact that the saree can make any woman worth her moolah look ultra-glam, she draped a Sabyasachi.

Take a look:

History repeats itself, so does fashion

Almost every mother tells her daughter how she wore the same clothes as her daughter is wearing today. Take the casual yet sleek salwar kurta / salwar kameez for example.

The most 'in' is the anarkali style suit. From Madhubala to Madhuri to Deepika Padukone, it has surely come a long way.

Saree and the Diva

The last happening event in Bollywood was Amrita Arora's wedding. Though the actress isnt in the A list of the film industry, her wedding and Sangeet were definitely a hit . Females actors like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora Khan, Dia Mirza, Priyanka Chopra, Neha Dhupia and the likes looked stunning in their ensembles.

Kareena Kapoor looked stunning in this saree. While sister Karisma chose to wear an elegant white lehnga made of chikan.

Both Katrina and Priyanka look stunning in their  designer saree.

Last but not the least, Amrita's lehnga looked absolutely stunning and well suited for her Sangeet. This season has seen a lot of green and red, so this was a welcome combination.
